  • Has anyone fitted a Runva XP11 on ARB Deluxe Bar

    Hi Guys,

I am trying to mount my winch on my bar today, however the clutch lever is hitting the bar, no matter which way I rotate the gearbox.

Have others experienced this issue, and if so, what did you do about it?

It seams like I need a different clutch lever...

Runva actually sell a "low profile" lever that should fit the 11XP, it retails for about $50 (plus post if you order online) and can be found by looking through one of the vendors threads on this forum (or ebay).

I just pulled the factory lever out and did a heat bend with a plumbers handheld butane torch and a length of pipe that fit over the end of the lever. It doesn't need to be bent much, just enough to make it closer to 90 degree than the 75 odd it sits at normally.

My gearbox is rotated so the lever faces the front of the bar and it can be activated by putting fingers through the holes on the front/side of the bar. I did it this way as I wanted to leave the ARB cover plate on top of my bar (solenoid is mounted behind winch).

Works fine so far, if I ever manage to break the lever I will just by a low profile one, but for the mean while the bent lever saves me $60!

Edit: Probably should have added in there somewhere, yes I have an ARB Deluxe and Runva 11XP fitted to a 150.

          Thanks Guys

SWR - The problem seems to be specific to the 150 and the Deluxe Bar. I have read a lot of threads, but no-one appears to have had the same issue as me.

RWO - Thanks for your help. I have pulled the lever out and given it to an engineering mate who has the right tools for this sort of stuff. I think I will rotate the gearbox like you, and have the lever facing forward.

I will mount the solenoid on top of the bar, between the spot lights at this stage.

Hoody - Thanks for your help. If do end up needing the low profile lever, I'll let you know.

          Thanks everyone.

The gearbox can be rotated on the runva 11xp, but you need to pull the winch apart to do it. I just did the job on mine a few weeks ago.

Mackayvx - Thanks, I have already rotated the gearbox 3 x times to try to make it fit...

Jonoxplor - AWESOME Thread!! Thanks - You have had the exact same problem as me. For some reason I didn't find this thread when I did a search??

Anyway, I have had a mate chop and weld the original lever today, so it is more 90 degrees.

I will fit the winch tomorrow night, either with the lever facing the top, or the front of the winch body. These are the onlt 2 x locations that I will be able to access it.

                Thanks Guys

How did you mount the solenoids behind the winch? I am looking at ways of installing mine at the moment and don't want it on top of the bulbar.

                    Cheers,

Mine fitted ok behind the bar of a 120 deluxe bar. Mounted on bar support, just need an angle drill for mounting holes. Was going to post photos when finished install but still waiting for dash switch to come.

Yeah mate, I hope the photos of where I had to cut into the grill make sense. It would foul the handle against the bullbar, or be facing the radiator had I not made that cut... Runva need to put the clutch release on the side of the gearbox, rather than the top, in my opinion.

find a flat bit of bar that connects your bar to your chassis somewhere - that's what I did.

drill a couple of holes and mount.

of you could mount it on a vertical bit of bar

For those that have mounted the control box behind the winch, can you still get to the plug location easily, or do you plug in the remote module before heading off road?

i will see if i can find the time over the weekend to install the wiring. The 120 was heaps easier to work on as the grill lifted with the bonnet giving good access
