Well after my first "off-road" outing on the weekend, I finally got around to cleaning her up and inspecting underneath for damage. The only casualty I found was the front fuel tank bash plate (and I use that term very loosely), which has copped a large dent forcing the front LHS back into the tank. I am still yet to pull it off and panel beat, that is my task for tomorrow. Hopefully there is no damage to the tank...
As I am about to purchase some proper protection from the engine/transmission/transfer, I got thinking about something to protect the front fuel tank better than the OEM tin plate. The front tank seems to be the lowest point on the car and very vulnerable to "ramp over" damage. Has anyone found a proper after market bash plate for the front/rear fuel tanks or even redesigned after market tanks that sit higher up in the car but don't loose capacity?
