Hi everyone, just picked up my 2011 GXL from the dealer yesterday, and now the modes begins. Has anyone lowered their ride in here,as I am not a off road buff and and can anyone out there give me a bit of advice.
    Thanks.

I don't think so, however if you do a search I'm pretty sure there was a link to a lowered 120 forsale on here somewhere.

I am curious to know why you bought a 4wd if you want to lower it and not drive it off road? surely there would be other less expensive options out there.

You are probably on the wrong forum as this one although Prado everything is highly biased towards 4wdriving Maybe here would be better for you. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2442217/2004-toyota-prado

Thanks for the negative comment mate,as this is my 6th Prado, and I had almost all the models since the beginning and didn't realize to own a Prado only means to go off road! I would be surprised if 60% of the Prado's has never been off road. Then again we all have different opinions, aye Andrew.Oh yeah another thing mate I think I been in this forum longer than you and about me being in different forum doesn't go well!!!

I would look to have a set of custom made rear springs and then sleeve the front struts so you can adjust them.

He wasn't making a negative comment he was just asking why you wanted to lower a prado, which is a fair enough question.

Go easy mate! Andrew was well meaning in his comments. The fact is, while probably more than 60% of Prados never leave the tar, it still doesn't make sense to buy a high clearance 4wd with all running gear for off road use only to lower it, but each to there own. You wouldn't be the first to put street mods on a Prado but as Andrew said this forum more in tune with using Prados for their intended purpose so information on lowering them is scares around here.

Like I said guys my bad! but still I reckon Pradopoint is not limited to only off road users ,all this years I have found it very helpful. But if you guys still think that we shouldn't be here than I don't wanna stay in hostile community.

G'day Mowya. As Declan has just stated, I believe Andrews comments were well meaning. I don't think I've seen anywhere on this forum, a thread with tips on methods to lower the Prado suspension. and like you said, you've been a member of this forum longer than most, with 6 Prado's under your belt and 20 or so posts. Andrew went to the trouble to search for a possible thread that may be of use to you. I fail to see where there has been any hostility in any of the responses? ( a little tongue in cheek maybe with the rice-X!) but that comes with the territory on this forum.

Thanks Barry and @ Craig, mate I got bit carried away but I apologized to Andrew! I am also with 300C Forum and MOCA(Mustang) and I still think this has got far better tech help than other two.

I'll start out by saying apology accepted MOWYA. All I said in the original post was I was "curious" I pressume if someone spends 60k+ on a new car they have good reasons for choosing what they have. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense from where I am sitting so I am curious to know why you chose the Prado, you know interested, want to know more about your thinking.

I don't have a problem with you being on PP either, as I said this forum is heavily "biased" towards 4wdriving, that has only come about because because 4wd nuts like me have over a thousand posts (most of then probably talking crap) and you have a couple of dozen, and 5 of those are in this thread. So my point is there aren't to many people on this forum that are into lowering Prados, but on a forum that is more bent towards street mods you may well find better information. Having said that the wealth of information that can be obtained from the membership of this forum never ceases to amaze me.

The thread that i linked to has a guy with a 120 series Prado that has been lowered 3 inches, seems like he would be a great person to start talking to as the setup is so similar to the 150.

On a less serious note; just load the car up to the max and go out and do about 5000 k's on corrugated roads, this will give you a 2" lowering due to stuffed springs

                            Cheers Andrew

There was a similar thread started in the 120 section, gets a bit of topic and not much advise on lowering in that thread either. http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...63-street-mods
