  • Daves White 2010 150 GXL D4D Auto

An ongoing set of the modifications to my 150 D4D GXL Auto

Day one, just after picking up from the dealer -

As it is now, after Tyres, Rack and Awning fitted up -

Some Pics of the roof fruit all ready to go -

    Seat covers -
Some SuperCheap specials, I already had a cover for the middle row to stick under the kids seats.

Hayman Reese towbar all fitted up -

I wasn't too keen on the cutting that had been done to the bumper so mocked up some rubber to go around, just need to glue it in place to get the corners down -

    Window tint -
I am really happy with the tint, it looks great being so dark on a white car. Darkest legal (*ahem*) tint the drivers side shot is with full morning sun shining through

Just added the most important of all the mods, used the same guy from ebay as everyone else -

I wish I had to traded my dunlops in before i put 800km on them , Im trying to get a set of BFG's but the trade in price on 800km old Dunlops hurts!

yeah, I was going to wait but when I was offered $180 per tyre and I checked out my rewards points on my credit card and realised I could get $300 of vouchers for Bob Jane's then decision was made, should only work out costing me $525 out of pocket for 5 tyres just need them to come in now, itching to put some KM's on the car.

Re: Daves White 2010 150 GXL D4D Auto

Kind of a half modification done today. Whilst in for the 1000kms check up I had the windows programmed so that they can be opened/closed by pressing and holding unlock/lock on the key remote.

This works great being in sunny QLD with three small children as you don't have to unlock, open door, press ignition twice to auto down all the windows. Now I can get the windows down whilst gathering the kids and taking the obligatory 5 minutes to grab everything and get out the door with them and in the meantime venting all the hot air from the car.

Similarly when I get out and find the kids in the back have hit the auto down just as you climb out I can just close all the windows easy

Try some pinch weld for the towbar cutout. You can get it at Clark Rubber.

                    Hi Rob,

Yes they are airbag compatible, they must have panels in the side which rip out if the airbags go off or similar. I don't know the specifics of how they work but they did say they were for seats with side airbags when I purchased them.

                    Cheers

I disconnected the rear air conditioning controls to stop the kids messing with them, see this thread http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-Non-permanent

Got the lift Ironman lift today, very happy with it. It has to settle yet and I did get it setup ready for future mods (Bar, Batteries etc) and also for towing the Jayco so it sits a bit high at the minute.

                        Measurements:

                        Pre lift
                        Drivers rear - 790
                        Pass rear - 785
                        Drivers front - 760
                        Pass front - 755

                        Post Lift
                        Drivers rear - 860 (+70)
                        Pass Rear - 860 (+75)
                        Drivers front - 805 (+45)
                        Pass front - 800 (+45)

I removed the spare wheel cover, mainly to be able to see the tow ball from the reversing camera but also because it looks good

                            Hi Dave,

Are you still happy with your Ironman setup? Also, was it the Brendale store that did the work and if you don't mind me asking, what did it all cost?

I should take possession of my Prado in the next couple of months and was considering a similar setup.

                            Cheers,
                            Muz.

                              Hi Muz,

I am very happy with the setup, did a bit of beach work over the xmas holidays and worked very well towing a very fully loaded Jayco up the beach.

It was the local Ironman 4x4 store on the Sunshine Coast (Caloundra) they did a great job. I will PM you on the costs.

Good luck with the waiting on your new Prado

                              Cheers
