It has been bugging me for a while that there is no parental override for the rear air conditioning controls.
My little ones keep playing with it and in particular like to kick the auto button so it comes blasting out!
You pull the cover off by just pulling the top two corners of the unit, it is only held in with those push fit plug type connectors, there are no screws. I found it easiest to slide the seats forward and also slide the top of the centre armrest forward as well. The silver grey trim is the part to pull on but the unit is in a cover plate which runs to the floor.
After removing the trim just unplug from the back of the air conditioning controls only. You can still operate the rear air conditioning from the drivers/passenger seat by the controls on the front dash.
This would also be very easy to access 12v ignition switched power too.
Some pictures of the process -
This is the whole unit pulled forward:

Close up of where the push type connector plugs go:

Removal of the plug/connector on the back of the AC unit controls :

I also found this large void/channel running down, not sure if what it is on the GXL model? http://s5.postimage.org/fwr0kxorn/ce...ircon_hole.jpg
Thanks
Dave
