I have been told by Toyota that if you install a dual battery in your Prado the 150 series not the 120 you need to have a DC to DC charger as the alternator is computerised and only reads the voltage of the original battery and when it reaches its charge limit it simply stops charging so then your second battery won’t get any charge as well. So if you have a dc to dc charger with an isolator from battery to battery it will bypass this and just have a push button on the dash to start from your second battery if your 1st battery goes.
