Far out guys, that looks awesome. Chippy, when you want your snorkel fitted? HAHA! Do agree though, next weekend is not the time for sixteen cars to do that but I would love to go back there with some of you sometime! Just fitted slider steps a couple of weeks ago so might aswell use them!!

That's great Russ.

Now I can have a white Prado during the week and it changes to Champagne on weekends.

... and I won't breach Admiral Toyo's copyright for using the name of his colour.

Well as chippy posted a list of jobs done today.

Here is what I got up to after the MotoGP.

1. cleaned the interior. Used meguiars interior and cloth cleaner. Fantastic .

2. washed the car outside.

3. removed the rear bumper and rear passenger side flare. The bumper was then given a dose of boiling water and gentle persuasion and the rear ding is back to about 85%- 90%+. Has a bit of missing paint but I have the touchup paint, linda is going to speak to a panel/painter at her work to see the best way to go.

4. with the rear bumper off I had a better chance to get water into extra areas not usually cleaned. Like the lip around the rear fuel tank, The rear cross member etc.

 Note. The rear cross member(that the toe hitch is mounted) can hold an amazing amount of dirt, sand, pebbles and rocks. I Flushed all that crap out. and it is a potential rust area as there is minimal holes for natural drainage. You have been warned.

(side note) One of the boys that came in my car was bitten by something on the day.
He had, what I would say, were the start of potentially serious symptoms.
From swelling of the bite site, pain travelling up his arm, nausea etc.
Chippy had in his car some antihistamine's and some stingoes.
That seemed to stop all symptoms and averted a premature end of the day and a trip to the medical centre. Thanks here go to chippys crew.
When we handed him back to his mother I was glad he was healthy.
She mentioned once she was on a tagalong trip and was stung by a bee. The (nurse) on the trip used onion to ease those symptoms. An Old wifes remedy that works. I wonder how many others are out there???

Next addition to the car is a more comprehensive (bush) first aid kit to complement the one allready in the car....
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

After yesterday I found myself researching winches last night.
If it wasn't for Jeff's winch things would have been very "interesting".
Today was 5 hrs of cleaning!

Hence the reason we have moved this weekend's trip to Nanga. The tracks are a lot tamer while still having some fun wheelin' opportunities. There's also more space and the terrain is more forgiving.

It's a social meet and greet as well as a bit of a 4WD play ... but the last thing we want is people going home pissed because something got damaged.

Cheers

It sort of lost a bit of that fun feel as things got harder and every 100 metres was a battle ... but having said that ... I'm going back and Bek is as determined to return. Although the next time we will be much better prepared. Bek's agreed that her working 3 days a week will pay for the snorkel and winch by christmas :D :D :D

It's really quite amazing how much a track can change .. going from undulating but driveable to impassable. Just add 2" of rain and a crew who must have gone in mid week .. and they certainly struggled, from the looks of those ruts and churned up mud.

Cheers

Yeh agreed but you still gave it a good shot just glad nothing happened to the engine.I think from here on in the tracks will dry as the rain should? start to slow down then we will complain about the dust.
Good luck on the nanga run just wish i could be there. My wife keeps telling me to be patient, but i told her patients only belong in hospitals!

Works really well. Also takes off all of those greasy smear marks where kids have bounced around loose inside the car as it negotiates particularly difficult sections of track.

Ditto what chippy said.
Spray on, give it a sec, use a nice cloth ( i got one from autopro) rub-a-dub-dub. Very nice.
Says to avoid glass and clear plastic. So also got armourall glass cleaners to remove the window grime and overspray from the interior cleaner.

Never been one for all the car cleaning stuff on the shelves of those car shops, But the stuff sure does work well.

Hiya Ando ... great to hear from you.

All the details are in the Southern Sojourn thread Here

but the quick summary is ...

Saturday 20th, meeting at 9.00 am sharp - McDonalds - Mandurah Forum, on Pinjarra Rd.

22 Kms of beach run down to Preston Beach
Morning tea
Blacktop run up to Dwellingup
53 Kms Nanga 4WD Heritage Circuit
Lunch stop in there somewhere ... probably even at the Old Nanga townsite ... before entering the tracks.

Cheers
