By the way, thanks to you I bought 1,5" body lift kit from Milners offroad. Instaled it just a couple days ago. I should say I am impressed. With my suspension lift and my body lift I think it is the highest Prado in my city ))) And it is just with 265/75/16. I am going to go to 285/75/16 starting this winter and probably 305/70/16 for the next summer season. Then it will be a Big Boy )))))))There is nothing interesting at the place where asphalt is, but there is no asphalt at the interesting place...

Sounds great Serg! I'm glad you're happy with it!
When you have a chance post up some photos in the forum somewhere, perhaps even from one of your trips... I'm sure many people would love to see the car and the Russian trailsglen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Another weekend rock crawling on Gees Arm South and I'm pretty sure I've stuffed another CV! If correct, it'll be CV failure number 7, and given how gentle my driving was, it's likely to be the last Repco CV shaft I'll ever use!glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Cheers, Ben.
I haven't confirmed the failure yet, but the occasional snap sound on the passenger side (Repco shaft) during hard turning has me pretty convinced. I'll try to confirm when I get home tonight. The warranty won't be an issue, in fact I've already had a chat with them. Their customer support has always been great

Thanks mate, those are cheap! Are they any good? At that price I guess they're probably about the same quality as the Repco ones.glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

They only offer 6 month warranty. I'm leaning towards these from my local 4x4 shop. $145 with free postage and 3 year warranty! I may be able to knock them down a bit more by picking up from the store?! They must be half decent if they are willing to warrant them for 3 yrs. At least if they break during warranty it's easy to take it back to a local shop.

They look similar to the Repco ones (notice the mid shaft is different to genuine ones). I wonder what the chance is that they all come from the same place.
Sigh.. I tried to confirm the CV failure last night but it was playing nice and didn't make any strange sounds. To be monitored..glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Hey John,
Bursons say their supply/manufacturer is AADI / A&F Driveshafts, in QLD Australia. Do you know them and how they'd compare to GSP? EDIT... Forget that... AADI supplies the exact same ones; GSP... http://www.aadiaustralia.com.au/Techspot.html
And just for permanent reference in this thread;
- Repco's manufacturer is Roadtech.
- GSP is Guansheng Auto Parts Manufacture Co., Ltd., ChinaLast edited by glen_ep; 19-09-2013, 02:14 PM.glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Stuff it, I'm going to run genuine rebuilds for a while and see what happens. If they continue breaking then the only next step is upgraded joints and cage.glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Thanks Serg and John.
I'll have to find a source for those in future.
For now, I've already installed a set of reconditioned ones.

Hey mate, just got a few questions.
Do you think it would be possible to do a 1" body lift and not have to worry about changing anything to suit it?
Do you think just an auto-locker in the rear would be fine for 90% of the places you take your Prado?
How have you found the power of the 5VZ? Plenty for 4WD'ing or sometimes lacking?
Thanks!Toyota Prado GXL Kimberly - 95 Series - 3.4L V6
