      Hey John,

That's my spare CV - I'll have to wait a couple weeks to find out about the replacement.

Don't worry, it's wood, and there's a couple axle stands in there as well, hiding behind the IFS stuff. Axle stands appear a little unstable at times, so the wood is in there for added safety

Unfortunately the upper arm didn't make CV changes any easier, but removing the spindle/hub assembly? Hell yeah! Very easy now!

      • hey glen to did you send the spindles off just because you had nothing to press the old ball joint out with ? and in turn nothing to press the new seat in ?

or did it require other special tools ?

Yeah, I don't have the tools for ball joints and pressing.

Pretty impress to see the modification in your prado.
Would you mind to shared with me where did you get those front upper arm? How much does it cost?

Fat Bob's Garage in Utah. It was under $400.. but you have to ask them for the special price ;-)

Part is SPC Light Racing #25460 (for 95-04 Tacoma and 96-02 4Runner)

                • Thanks for the information glen, but do you have any option to buy it in Australia?
Or is there any supplier that making the same item in Australia?

                  • No, there are no upper arms available in Australia, our market is too small. This can be a good thing though, as parts are cheaper from the states - you just have to pay the shipping. If the product was being sold here, you'd pay at least 3x as much to cover the retailers shipping, import tax, income and warrantee work.

BTW - keep in mind that changing suspension/steering components may affect your vehicles roadworthiness, so it's best to speak to engineer before spending this money.

                    • Glen_ep, thanks for advise.
Below is my beast...I change my suspention to Old Man Emu, front and rear. Total it give me 3 inch lift.
Add another 2 inchi of spacer in front coil spring, cause my winch is pushing down.
but I realise my ball join is too near to my tire..so, I need some solution for this.

                        • Hey Prado12,

hehe, I've seen that video before! You're brave to cross that rocky river.

I don't think the upper arm will provide any additional clearance between tire and ball joint. The main advantage of the aftermarket arms is to avoid physical contact between arm and coils on the big lifts, and also increased up/down travel. Your front definitely looks high, so you'd benefit from the aftermarket arms.

To gain some clearance between tyre and ball joint, you could buy some rims with negative offset, or get wheel spacers, to move the tyre away from the car. Another option is to get skinny tyres. However, if you're going to buy the upper arms anyway, I'd give that a try first, just in case it does help with the clearance... *fingers crossed*

                          • Hi Glen,

Thanks for the advise, yeah..I did post some of my activity with my old ID, some how I'm not able to login due to password issue.
I have to recreate new login ID now.

Anyway, I'm very keen to try the aftermarket upper arm.Not very sure how to get from here.
I have some friend who own mechining shop, might getting help from him to fibricate one for me.

You are right, about the arm contact the upper arm, when you lift up the car it will touch the spring.
I'm worried, during the offroad the potential for the tyre drop in hole. This will damage the spring.

                            • A little update:

                              - The last CV shaft which snapped, has been authorised for warrantee replacement, go Repco !!

                              - My rear diff locker was leaking oil via the air release valve, into my engine bay. After a couple months of dispute with the two companies involved, it has been fixed free of charge by ARB.

                              - Installed extended sway-bar connects... details and test results coming real soon...
