Is that long bash plate, running back to the rear diff, stock in Australia? Or is it a tank guard (we don't have a tank fitted there on the UK models)?Last edited by fridayman; 23-07-2012, 05:43 AM.95 3.0 Camp Car, 150 V6 Daily Driver

haha thanks! I do clean it you know :P Particularly underneath.
Oh, no fitted photos of the front plate yet, I'll get one - but FYI, it's already been dented !glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

BTW, those chassis welds that Lukey did look superb.
OT: I wonder if Toyota lower trailing arm mounts are actually lower than those on GQ/GU Patrols or if the Toyota chassis rails are higher, giving the illusion of low hanging mountsDeclan: 1997 GXL 4.5 Auto 80 series on LPG, ARB bullbar, 2" OME lift, 32" MTZ, GME UHF, rear ARB locker, Kaymar spare wheel carrier

Yes, looks like some nice welding, and I'm glad he choose round tube - as curved welds are safer/stronger than straight lines.
I'll try to get a bash plate pic up today.glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Thanks Max! I can't take credit for all the work though, I get the welding done by professionals (one of which is a friend)glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90

Mate, I reckon your rig is up for being photographed by EMG (4WD Action) for an article. It's a hell rig that one of yours and you just have to come up with a solution for those bloody CVs. Have you contacted Driveline Services there yet? Did you end up putting a diff lock in the front after the pinions got damaged? How do you feel about putting a hot weld to that chassis of yours?
Sorry, this is a little off subject but Glen does some interesting mods.

If I'm contacted for publishing I'd probably go along with it... but I wont settle for photos on fire trails and splashing though mud puddles; they'll have to be on rocks!!
The last CV was replaced under warranty so I'm not too worried I probably won't look for stronger ones, because it's nice to know where the weak spot is. I always take a spare CV shaft on day trips and the right tools, so can change it myself. If I have stronger CV's, I fear that the transfer will be next. It's unlikely to be diffs, because they're both strengthened by diff lockers.
What do you mean by hot weld on the chassis? It's had a couple small welds already.Last edited by glen_ep; 25-07-2012, 06:56 PM.glen_ep - engineered, 4" lift, 33" 255/85R16, lockers, 4.88 ratios www.pradopoint.com.au/showthread.php?17237 www.youtube.com/user/glenep www.fb.com/groups/ToyotaPrado90
