  • You broke a cv with front ARB activated? Wheeling in straight line?

In the first pic, I see something strange in the inner cv boot. What is that?

In my 90 bash plate with the diff drop, just put a longer bolts and no issues!

How much psi you put in km2??

    Cheers

OME 881 coils Nitrocharger Sport shocks front, 80 Series front coils & rear 80 series Tokico shocks rear, 255/85R16 Cooper Discoverer ST, Viper rocksliders, parking brake cable rear axle bracket, extended rear brake line, extended diff breathers, headers, engine perfomance mods, soon LR upper control arms, ARB rear locker in the future.

    • Hey buddy,
In both cases I only noticed the broken CV's later, back in the city, so I'm not certain how it occured. I suspect both occured with the front locker enabled. Based on the damage I believe the first one occured from up/down movement (ie, too much droop). I didn't see the damage on the second one (under warrantee), but I'm taking a hunch that it'd be the same. EDIT: I'm not scared of turning a little with the locker on, as I'd only be using it when there's either very slippery conditions or wheels in the air.

The new inner CV boot was compressed due to insufficient air inside the boot. I fixed it up just after taking the photos. Keen eye, you have!

I use longer bolts on the bash plate too, but without spacers, the middle row mounts won't quite reach the cross member. EDIT: I'm not to worried though, one day I'll replace the plate with a heavy duty anyway, and I'll tweak that one properly.

Tyre pressures: 38-42 on road, 24-28 off road, 19-22 on hardcore tracks

Oh, you don't hear when your cv blows? That's strange!

Look the details to learn if that happen to me ja ja!

Thanks for the tire pressures numbers. That helps!

            • I like a lot the simplicity of that shelf system. Is sufficient and easy to use!

Here are some 95 series bashplates plans. Maybe can give you an idea:

              Transfer ana Tranny:

              Radiator:

              Gas tank:

I think they are of Duraluminium. Strong enough and lightweight.

Yeah I was expecting a cv failure to be very obvious and loud, but not so. The first one wasn't even noisy afterwards, I only knew because some metal was poking out of the boot!!

                    • Now I'm glad I replaced my upper control arm bushes before I did the body lift.
