With new shoes (Toyota), brand new slotted rotors (RDA), and a thorough adjustment according to the Haynes manual, my hand brake was still useless. The solution.. ?? Bring your Prado to B & R Brakes Blacktown

Maybe you to have leave the spare tyre at 5psi (enough to keep shape).

Oooh that's a good short term solution, thanks!
Long term though, I'm thinking either modify the tailgate slider/limiter, or the spare holder, or a new rear bar, hmmm.....

                  Ta.
                  Lambo, hell no!
I'm pretty sure the auto's torque converter is working overtime, so next is 4.88 ratios to get some power back. I've just ordered the parts from the states while the rates are still reasonable.

In order to make use of the added clearance from the body lift, maybe you should look into a custom transmission mount to lift it 1.5". It would angle the engine downward and increase the uni-joint angles but would add clearance under the transfer case and transmission sump.

hmm, yes, the body lift has opened up several interesting options. I'll be looking at unusual mods like that over the long term - as long as it doesn't create a battle between fan and radiator

Another on the long term list would be raising the sub tank... it's way too low.

                          Nice. Solid pinion spacers too?

Yep, the solid spacers are in the plastic bags, hiding amoungst the bearings/seals.
(also have the crush sleaves, they're part of the rebuild kit)
