    wondering if you have any opinions , Experience with the SW chip above and or compared with the Steinbauer Modules . Looking to chip my 2011 150 series for a desert trip . Mate has the steinbauer and is stoked interested in thought or experience
    thought recomendations , concerns

    All chips put extra stress on the engines. I'm pretty sure that the Steinbauer is the only chip that doesn't alter common rail and boost pressures, it just changes injector timing. So the Steinbauer puts the least pressure on the system but you still risk engine failure, particularly due to cracked pistons if you have a look through the forum.

      P is the pressure in the cylinder pushing the piston down and what you are increasing whether it be increased fuel spray through increased rail pressure or increased spray duration. BMEP if you want to get all technical.

      Same, same, minor changes are probably no issue but we arent talking minor increases. Good luck

        Sw and steinbauer are old tech basic type chips.

        If you a chasing an upgrade look into a reflash ($1000-1400) Or if you want Full control look into a Piggy back ECU ( Unichip,HKS or ECUshop MMKD) all around $2k fitted and tuned.

        The thing I dislike most of Sw and Sb is that they are one tune suits all type of chips where if you are lucky the end user has a dial to turn for the perfect setting.

        All Piggy back ECU's need to be installed by a Tech and tuned to your rig. You can name the AFR's you choose as long as your above 18:1. Personally my prado is standard (wifes car) and my 2013 Lux is tuned with a Unichip in 4 selective tunes.
        1- Power
        2- Towing
        3- ECO
        4- Standard
        5- Immobilizer

        With any choice you make ensure you have an EGT gauge fitted and get an idea of your standard EGTs before tuning.

            Fair call, no getting away from the physics. It's a shame that the design is so close to design limits, especially for a heavy duty fairly agricultural engine.
