Get a second opinion I guess some guys from Perth who have diesels would give you a good contact/workshop.

I would try United Fuel Injection on the Great Eastern Hiway near the airport.

      Cheers,

might not be the turbo itself but could be a faulty actuator which is common. keep us posted

Leaking oil hey, would be interesting to see where from.
Usually when a turbo has oil on the outside of it, most of the times its just the Boost hose clamps are loose causing a small air leak.
then with the oil from the Rocker cover breather going back through, the oil gets forced out under pressure and covers the turbo in oil.

Just spent 2 hours driving to and from United The issue is a clogged air filter causing back pressure somwehere and the turbo getting covered in oil
They did explain exactly what is happening but i'm not really mechanically minded so it's beyond me how all this works
I don't think the guy at united had laughed so hard in a long time.
Basically if you arn't using oil
                no power loss
                No smoke
                You have no turbo issue
Think the guys at rockingham toyota need some training
Needless to say the car is not going back there
Anybody know a good mechanic 8)

Well that is a good find, lucky you didn't put a turbo on it then....
pretty bad misdiagnosis....I would take it back to Toyota and blast them..

Toyota told me that my 2010 GXL turbo had a very small oil leak. 5 weeks for a turbo from Japan and $5K to replace.
Went to MTQ and had them do diagnostics on the turbo. Shaft had lateral and vertical play, they agreed that at that time it was only a small leak and turbo would need replacing in about 10 months or so.
I had them replace it (Genuine Toyota Tubo) while vehicle was still under lease. (Finishes in Sep)
                      All up $4k.

They are an expensive bit of kit.

Check the compressor on your turbo, look for a crappy coloured sealant job.
Sometime around 2011- 2012 Toyota changed to simply using very poorly applied sealant.
As mentioned, these engines breathe oily mist which can leak passed the sealant giving the impression she's done a turbo seal.
Think Toyota is too lazy to clean and inspect properly, no money to be had in that.
