  • Sold my 150 Prado

Hi guys I originally joined this site to find out about the 150 Prado before I purchased one. I bought the car new back in 2011. I sold the car today and am buying a y62 patrol as a want 3.5 tone towing capacity. The Prado has been a good car and has not let me down.
I have not been a big contibutor to the forum as I have not done the mods that a lot of you guys did. I would like to thank all the members for their contributions to this forum. It's a great forum and it is the members that make it great. I will not leave the forum but might stick my head in now and then to see whats happening.
By for now and safe travels.

Was the LC200 part of the decision making? And is it the new Y62 you bought now that they have dropped the price substantially?

            Hi amts,
I was in the market for a new tug for the caravan. I wanted a bit of luxury as well as I will be spending a bit of time in it. I am not pro eather Toyota or Nissan. When it comes time to shop around I have a look at them all. And decide which is best at the time. Before the Prado I had a GU TI Patrol and thought it was the ducks guts. But when a was ready to buy a new tug the 3ltr Nissan was a slug. The 150 Prodo was far better.
This time around I looked at the 200 Sahara, It is a great car but terrably over priced. Had a look at the Ford Everest Titanium. The ford was nice 3 ton towing, good torque for towing. The Nissan had everything I wanted and has more goodies that the Sahara. And price well. $69k on road. thats hard to beat. The Sahara by the way was around $120K. way out of my price range.

I know a few who have gone from 200 series to Y62's and all have said it was the best thing they have done. Comfort, ride and performance.
