I went to Toyota last week and got a price for a replacement key fob. I was expecting the price to be ridiculous and it was:
Transmitter $399.91
Key $81.44
Transponder programming $74.25
Key cutting $50
I can live without the key as I don't think i've ever used it in 6 years, but even without it the new transponder and programming is $474.
I've found a few potential alternatives on ebay.
This one is supposed to be genuine and $100 cheaper than Toyota quote. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/272534348477
This are a couple of non-genuine ones: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-10...4AAOSw0UdXwF~6

Has anybody tried a non-genuine one and how did you get it programmed?
