I`ve recently fitted a twin battery setup to my 120 D4D with a smart relay . I know some time ago I read somewhere in these forums about a mod to the fuse box which allows a higher charge to the second battery . I`ve looked and looked but can`t find that info . Can some one put me in the right direction . Many thanks Bruce .

It's just a replacement fancy electronic fuse that replaces the standard fuse and bumps up the charging of the battery.
No soldering required. Just pull out the standard fuse and replace with Leigh's fuse. The only possible problem is if the fuse is installed 180 degrees the wrong way around and the fix is to swap it around. I think Leigh's latest ones are reversible. They have two diodes in them.Greg - 08 D4D Prado,

The current generation with electronic circuit has to be inserted the right way around
to work.
There are also a couple of imitation units available these days that say they have a fuse
in them to protect against a short circuit, these devices may have a fuse, the question is
at what current does it blow?
I have also seen a unit with a 7.5A fuse in it, the diodes in these devices are not rated for 7A,
if you get a fault in the circuit that causes 7 amps to flow for example the fuse won't blow and

So this diodes allows more flow to charge the extra auxiliary battery? Sorry if question seems a bit simple but just looking into doing a dual battery setup on my prado and finding out info on extra stuff I will needComment

I've gone with a baintech power top. 100 amp hours, just need to run a heavy duty cable from the battery to trickle charge it.
No over priced battery tray, easily removable and has all the management systems built in.
Also have a 120 watt primus foldable solar panel as wellComment
