Hello all,
I have searched and read just about every thread that that I could find on the above and have also scoured google for outside information. Basically I have a Dec 2008 D4d with the dipstick on the drivers side and the power steering fluid reservoir on the passenger side in front of the EGR blanking plate location. Every step by step guide that I could find had the dipstick on the passenger side so I am assuming different engine, maybe earlier or later hilux? The 'hilux' install seems very straight forward although a bit fiddly due to tight access. I have started to dismantle parts on my engine to allow access to install blanking plate but to be honest it looks nigh on impossible to access in my case. From the point that I am at now I cannot see a straightforward way to install the plate without a huge amount of stripping down work just to gain some limited access to the flange on the EGR cooler. If anyone could point me in the way of a comprehensive step by step guide for this particular engine I would be most grateful. I have all the necessary tools and I am reasonably competent mechanically, I just need a bit of direction and reassurance that what I am doing is correct.
Thanks,
DHM77
