So I just booked my 2015 Prado with the 2.8 Diesel in for a service, and being a diligent boy scout I thought I would pick up a fanbelt and top and bottom radiator hoses and stash them in the back of the vehicle in case I need them on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere one day.
Nice lady who booked the service in said she would get someone from parts to ring me with a cost for the belt and hoses.
Guy calls me, belt ~$70 and hoses ~$30 each. But wait for it – they don’t have the hoses in stock and they would need to get one from Melbourne and one from Japan. WTF??? They have been selling this model Prado for a year and half, and don’t carry spare hoses in country???? So I have ordered some in, and suggested that Toyota should consider what spare they carry in country.
Good luck if you damage one of your hoses – car will be out of action for 4 weeks while the hose comes in!!
BTW I asked at Repco etc, and none have them yet – all say the car is too new.
