Hi.
I have noticed many rust spots lurking on the roof of my 2016 Prado Kakadu.
I can see that bits of metal have lodged on the roof from work that has been done e.g. roof rack and shovel mounts.
I have gone to great lengths to remove roof rubbers and rust proofed underneath with Kill Rust before re inserting the rubbers.
It seems that sand and other muck all collect under these rubber strips.
Should I remove these rubber strips for easier access and cleaning.
Does anyone have any advice on how to fix, check or maintain this problem.
It is very difficult to remove these rust spots once a roof rack is fitted.
Also, what is the best way to clean the roof with a closely fitted roof rack.
I do clean the roof with a high pressure sprayer from time to time but this does not remove the dirty sheen that needs to be cleaned with soapy water.
Cheers.
David
