Hi Everyone,
I need help. My 2010 Prado, 3L turbo diesel has the following light on dashboard: 4LO and engine light flashing.
My turbo blew up three months ago, we had Toyota dealer put a new one, nearly 5K later ouch!! a few weeks after we had this done, I saw the above warning lights flashing. I took the car back to the dealer, they said nothing seems to be wrong after testing. The only advice they gave was could be a result of poor diesel fuel or poor quality oil.
Today, as I was driving with 4 kids in the back, the 4LO and engine warning lights came on again and car stopped in the middle of the road. I restarted engine and drove the car back home (2 mins away) with the dashboard lights still flashing.
Also, when I start the car it makes a choking noise, could these issues be linked?
I will take the car back to the dealer tomorrow, but I would like feedback if anyone has had this problem b4. We have never taken the vehicle off road, the longest trips we have ever done with vehicle are 2 hr trips max, and 90% of the time the prado is only used to transport kids from school and back.
I am hoping this is not a big problem as the car has served us very well till now.
