  • Confirmation of MAF cleaning method

Can i get confirmation from someone what is actually cleaned?
Below is 2 pictures of a MAF sensor, i cleaned the photo 1 item, as i could not see how i could dismantle the sensor itself from the body.

I did not have any fine wire etc inside mine to clean, just looked like a rounded cone with fins, from what i cleaned.

Almost there mate! On the side of the maf is two 10mm bolts. Take those out and the MAF cylinder will come away from the air cleaner housing. Then spray your cleaner straight into the centre of the smaller cone. If you look hard enough, buried inside that smaller cone is the MAF hotwire. Thats where you squirt the cleaner!

Hogey, you could but you'd almost empty the entire can trying to get the same result from a quick squirt of maf cleaner.

Maf cleaner does has a light corrosive agent. Contact cleaner does jot.

Id use the right tool for the job. Clearly they made a spray for the task .use it. Yes its more expensive but the maf to replace is considerably more expensive
