  • A few pics of my electrical points in the cargo bay

Spent yesterday doing a bit of wiring for some points in the cargo bay. Pretty happy with the end result! The Anderson plug and its switch (battery one) run on a separate circuit to the rest of the points. All cables are concealed within the car.

    Cheers Dave

Nice work Dave, that looks great! Can ask where you got that Anderson socket? I haven't seen one of those before.

They are called a trailer vision flush mount socket. Works a treat. I got it from Jaycar but you can get them online as well.

10/10 on the electrical work. It's neat, organised, ergonomic, user friendly, functional and gives you bragging rights whenever camping with people who'd be in awe of it. Well done and very creative. It's so plug and play
You've basically inbuilt a Thunder Weekender into the side of your boot. Bravo!!!

Looks great! Well done. Im looking at doing something similar. Did you use 6b&S from the battery?
Does it run from 1st battery or second battery? I want to go from second battery and need to know length of cable needed.
Ebay sell 6m and 10m lengths was hoping 6m would do it.

I ran it all off my second battery. I used 6b&s from + and - on the battery to the isolator switch and anderson plug. For the switches and sockets I ran the 50amp twin core from both battery terminals as well. Both are fused in the engine bay.
I can't remember how long the cables were but i ran them from my second battery up the front drivers side then along the fire wall to the passenger side and through that big rubber grommet into the car - comes out pretty much behind the glove box. I think 6mtrs would be a bit short but it's pretty easy to measure.
I can upload some more photos tonight if you want
