  • Wired sound after fitting ARB Deluxe Bull Bar for 2016

Hi all, just fitted an ARB bull bar a few days ago. All good except some wired sound when I open and close door, or when the car is shaken by one hand. It will definitely make this sound or even bigger when moving although you won't notice as engine and the wind etc make noise. (by saying this, the sound is not too loud but very obvious when quiet) The sound is like you are shaking a very old, near broken wood chair, and I can confirm that it comes from the front end of vehicle. Before I head to ARB or Toyota, I just wonder if anyone has experienced this or any comment on that?

it might be the front guard liners (plastics inner wheel arches) were the cut them down and tuck them into the bull bar lower splash tray the movement between the body and chassis can make a creaking sound.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I slightly push the front guard liners and it makes that noise. So I am just wondering if it is ok or has long term effect or has some methods to fix it? As this is a new car, so probably will be kept for another few years.
BTW, when I contact TOYOTA, they said I need you pay around 200 dollars to have it inspected for around one and half hour. And they will change parts at no cost (warranty) if it is the car's problem. So is this the usual approach to this sort of thing?

Can confirm its plastic wheel arches mate, whoever fitted did not trim them in properly, easily fixed. pop the underside bash plates off and re-trim.

I had it looked by ARB a few days ago, they just said the stock underbody plate comes loose. After tightening, the sound seemed smaller. However, today when temperature gets high, it comes back. I will just try your solution tomorrow. Thanks in advance.
