  • where to buy 255/80r17 cooper st maxx

    Hi everyone

Have spent ages trying to find a way of getting 33's on the prado without the drawbacks and i have concluded the only realistic way of doing it without drawbacks to to use 255/80r17 tyres.

KM2's and cooper st maxxs come in this size but i'm having a hard time sourcing the coopers, anyone got a source to share? (im in alice springs so they will have to ship)

    Cheers

If only it was a more common size. However you may (not 100% on this) still get minor rubbing on the chassis on the standard offset. The KM2 may have a better chance of not rubbing as muddies have rounder shoulders and narrower tread width.

Hope you will get a good outcome with this size on standard offset.

Would love to see some pics of the 255/80s on your Prado. Would be my favorite size for the 120, but it's very hard to get some tires of this size in germany :| Goodyear Duratracs of this size would be killer!

What's the load rating? They don't appear to be listed in the Cooper Aus website. Being a bit of a rare size, you might want to get an extra spare just in case.

121 which is 1450 per Tyre, yer i have 6 rims so that is what I have ordered for. $439 a tyre, $2634 all round. Having nightmares about my bank account but the tyres need to be replaced anyway.

1 week of shipping has turned into a 12 week wait from the US, so it will be around christmas before i can chuck some pics up

                    Yer got the tyres.

Absolutely awesome tyre, they fit with no rubbing and fill the arches well. Other pluses been that you do not need to buy new rims as they will fit on the originals with rubbing.
There is also no describable power loss that i can feel and the braking feels identical to the way it was with stock size wheels.

Aesthetically they look great with the 10mm width reduction been next to impossible to notice.

Definitely recommend them if you can both afford and have the patience to wait for them.

Don't mind the destroyed side steps i have, and keep in mind my lift kit is sagging more than an inch.

Looks fantastic, great to hear that there are no noticeable issues either.

I am wondering if (and how) you mounted the spare wheel? I don't believe it will fit without some sort of modification.
