  • How remove boot door panel for drop down table?

I've got a 120 GXL, and I've been looking everywhere to see how to get the boot door panel off so I can see where to connect my drop down table. I need it to be secure to the boot door because i want to put two fire extinguishers on the bottom of it.

    Any thoughts ?

    Hi Maxine
Most of the attachment's for the door trim are the push in fixings roughly about 11 of them.
There are some screws also, i think behind the strap/stretchy netting in the right side recess.
Also the door handle trim molding - below the window.
The window molding separates from the main door trim and sort of interlocks with the lower molding.
This is a reasonably challenging task to remove the panel and you don't want to stuff up or misplace any fixings.
A set of trim removal tools are very handy and quite cheap

      Troy, Thanks for that !!
Did you have to take the rear panel off to connect it to the door? Where you've placed the top screws is that straight into the metal of the door or the plastic paneling? Need it to hold a lot of weight

The screws all penetrate into the metal of the door.
Mind you, the top screws that fix the strap and the loop buttons are quite long (65mm+) I used Stainless Steel screws in about an 8-10 gauge.
Nylon marine hinges are preferable as no rattles like you might get with certain metal hinges.
When you hole the webbing for the screw it helps if you can melt the hole to allow clearance for your screws, it is a pain when the webbing binds on the screws.
A small soldering iron or a nail held with pliers and heated makes a neat finish.
        Cheers

          Hi Maxine
I had done the plastic panel removal prior to installing our rear door table.
However I made one for my niece's Prado, taking a template from our table. Parked the Prado's back to back then drilled and screwed it to her vehicles door taking measurements from ours.
Most areas under the plastic panel have a void/gap between the door metal and the plastic itself, so be cautious not to over tighten those screws to avoid deforming the panel.
          Cheers
