  • LH side high beam not working

Just discovered... my LH high beam doesn't work.

Globe is fine, as it works when swapped to RH side.
15A Fuses, both sides, ok... Low beam and parkers work.

Swapped the grey Factory relays between low and high... same thing... LH high beam no go.

Any car sparkies got a suggestion?

    Thanks in advance.

2015? Sounds like you'd have a warranty claim there.

Yeah, agreed mate, but if it's a quick fix, I'd rather not be without the car for however long Toyota dick around with it...

Did you swap the fuses, sometimes they can be fractured and look ok.

As per Leigh above, replace the fuse anyway. my right hand High beam stopped working.
Fuse looked good, but swapped it out, and light worked again

Im not Bogged - I've just lost traction. . . . . and now I'm showing the wife why I bought those Maxtrax, and the tyre deflator, and the compressor, and the bullbar, and the winch, and a lot of other goodies I've hidden in the Prado

            Thanks guys,
            Tried all... no deal.
            Factory Relays both working,
Swapped out 15A fuses, both good,
Swapped globe to RH side and it works,

Tracing the loom back now to see if there's a break... otherwise, absolutely no idea.

Sorry wasn't really thinking, if its only the high beam not working ie low is ok then it won't
be in the positive side of the wiring the fault will be in the negative side that that takes the fuses and relay out of the equation.

Looks like the lights wire back to junction connectors where the loom comes through
the fire wall on the right hand side, haven't been doing anything round there have you?

No mate... haven't worked on that side (driver's side?) of the car for weeks...
I stripped the wire as far back as I could trace it from the globe back.. (it disappears into a fat conduit that goes back to cabin) and no power going to positive wire at all.

Looks like a trip to Toyota... they'll probably blame my light bars or something... really annoying.

Just ensure your not seeing the negative at the globe socket, ie just before the socket put a
pin though the insulation and test for negative.

Thanks again Leigh... I appreciate your help, but I can't work it out mate...

I've tested (through insulation with push pin voltmeter) at the globe, and as many spots as I could find along the black wire...
                    Nothing.

It seems beyond me, so I might have to suck it up and take it to service centre.
