Hi Guys,
I've done a search and it seems difficult to find an answer to my question. Toyota also put almost nothing in the manual.
I'm trying to find out which modes are active when in H4, L4 etc. and what a long and short press of the VSC switch will do in those modes. I managed to find an article that explained it for the Fortuner, so I based my info. below off that and also dash indications when pressing the various buttons in the car.
Is what I've come up with below on the money? I have a 2012 150 Series VX.
I believe there is TSC (trailer stability control) also, but I'll leave that out of this discussion. Edit: I think this is only available on the facelit models.
H4 – All systems remain active (VSC, TRC, A-TRC).
H4 with short press of VSC button – TRC OFF light illuminates (Does A-TRC remain active?).
H4 with long press of VSC button – Both TRC OFF and VSC lights illuminate (Does A-TRC remain active?).
L4 – VSC light illuminates. TRC and A-TRC remain active.
L4 with long press of VSC button – VSC and TRC OFF lights illuminate (Does A-TRC remain active or does it switch off when in L4?).
Having the centre diff lock engaged or disengage doesn't seem to affect which indicator lights illuminate.
I think the question I really have is: When is A-TRC active/deactive?
Cheers.
Edit: Rewrote due to some testing I did on the road.
