  • Lightforce HTX Driving Lights vs Genesis 70w HID

    Hi All,

Long time since I posted anywhere here.

I am looking at finally replacing the Stolen Genesis Driving Lights I won at one of the GTG, (many years ago) and want to know peoples thoughts on the New Lightforce HTX Driving Lights.

Has anyone fitted them as yet, or know of someone that has?

What is / has been the re-action to them?

Are they really worth it or should I just get a Replacement of my Genesis in HID 70w?

FYI, I already have a 20" LED Lightbar, so these are mainly for distance.

    I welcome comments and opinions.

have you thought about xray hid lights, ive got a set of 7inch 100w on the prado and they are absolutely brilliant, same comparison as lightforce if not better they cost me about $1100. the reason i went with them is because everyone has lightforce and i like to be different and wanted to try something new and i am extremely happy. I got the pencil beams as i have a lightbar as well on the bullbar. 2.4klm beam. Still not sure if i should have gone with 1 pencil and 1 spread but am happy either way just wanted to give a bits of a heads up happy 4x4ing.

ps they have a pretty led light around them if your into that sort of thing. i have connected mine to give extra awareness to oncomming traffic.

I have been researching the Lightforce DL 230HTX's for some time and they seem unequaled in every respect (except price lol).

At $799 per light, they are certainly expensive but if you want the best there is, you have to pay for it.

Mind you, you could probably achieve the same result with a cheaper pair of HID's and an LED lightbar.

But I love the way the 230HTX's combine both LED and HID technology and that you can switch the LED's and HID's of off and on independently or together with your high beam.

Theft would be my only concern but I will be taking mine off and storing them safely until I use them on a night trip or adventure.

I had to use 4 Cibie Super Oscars on my last rig to get this kind of result (but probably not as good and 4 lights = lots of fiddling!.

These 230 HDX's will be my first choice.

Thanks David for the posting the youtube links, I agree you get what you pay for and I will keep saving up to grab a pair to replace my lightforce 170 HID.
