I installed one of the above on our 120 1KZTE in front of the radiator/ air con condenser on a couple of vertical brackets right behind the holes in the bonnet. I plumbed it in series with the existing pipe work at the top right of the radiator. I realise this is the inlet from the transmission and I am not sure if this is OK. The outlet pipe work was just too hard to access.

Any thoughts anyone? I guess what ever the correctness [or otherwise!] of this method it will reduce the total cooling load on the cooling system.

Hi Owen, 'ok' depends on your circumstances - hot/cold climate, towing/not towing etc.

Where usage is not extreme i'd suggest you'll probably have no issues but as to weather your set-up is optimal depends on above.

p.s are you sure the top pipe from the radiator is the inlet - on my D4D 120 (5 speed) and 1GD 150 (6 speed) the top pipe is the outlet back to the trans.

Hi 120D4D.

I ran it in drive at about 2000rpm for 30 seconds [with right boot firmly on the brake pedal!!] then climbed undeneath and felt the pipes where they exit the trans. The warm one went to the top, so I am sure I got the correct one.

I am going to be towing a Jayco Journey.
