Give Arnie at Autoride Suspensions at call on 9344 1995. Been installing Bilsteins, Eibach and Kings springs for over 25 years. Found him to be very personable and helpful. He is located in Balcatta, however, but his workshop (behind his home) is immaculate and clean. Cost me approx. $2,300 to have a 2" lift + heavy duty springs and Polyair bags installed on my 150 Prado GX due to weight of dual wheel carrier, rear drawer system (home built) and roof top tent.

Also, check with your insurance company as most of them will not cover your 4by if installing greater than 2" lift.

Thanks for the help and encouragement. As you can see, Zordo agreed exactly with the specs you provided first up.
Regarding tightening the bolts only after the vehicle is at ride height and has been rolled back and forwards a few times, is this only necessary for the fronts ?
I've just had a read through AMTS instructions on doing the fronts without spring compressors, and Zordo's instructions for doing the rears, and I can't see anything like that for the rears ?

OR, is that accomplished by this section in Zordo's instructions:
"Jack up the rear diff until the vehicle is supported by the jack & not the jack stands."
"Check coil is seated in the chassis & Tighten all the trailing arms/ shocks."

            Thanks again.

              Hey,

Tighten all bushes front and rear at ride height. You should also undo and re-torque all your control arm/trailing arm bushes so they flex equally in both directions at your new lifted ride height. Your bushes will last longer that way!

              If you don't already have jack stands, try these;

              https://www.tradetools.com/product-r...ands-jack-pair

If you're going to work on your Prado, they are a very good height. I use them with 70mm hardwood planks underneath, and then I don't need to use the ratchet mechanism...safest way to work under your big heavy 4wd!

When you get your wheel alignment after your new suspension is in, make sure you ask for as much caster as possible, handling will be better on the highway and with towing!

                Thanks !

Be interested to hear how you go with the 302 spring. I put 302s in my diesel 150 and got 70mm of lift which wouldn't settle any lower than 60mm,with bilstein shocks on the lowest circlip. Spoke to Dobinsons in Sydney about it and they said they had the same problem and were about to change out a set they had just fitted for a customer in a V6. I ended up fitting 300 and got about 40mm of lift. In my car the 302s were way to high. I have no bullbar.

Could avoid the problem if you buy Zordo's Bilsteins, he has extra spring seat grooves.

                        Hey mate,
I did a 2" lift last week in my 150. I used Oztech outback shockies and King springs.
I put heavy duty springs in the front and back - but the back was too stiff so I went back to the "comfort" 2" springs and it rides a lot better.
Only got about 35-45mm lift in the front and a good 50-60mm in the rear (it will settle)
Front has steel b/bar, winch, and dual batt so definitely need heavy duty.
I am happy with the upgrade!
                        $1500 fitted Qld price.

Fitted the rear springs and shocks today. Can't speak highly enough of John/Zordo.
Best price by far, including shipping, and what other shops can you call multiple times on a Saturday night for advice/support !!
If he can talk an idiot like me through it he can talk anyone through it.

Hopefully tackle the fronts tomorrow, can't believe the rears are "easy" !! Not sure what to expect from the fronts.

I've had my V6 petrol lifted about 3 weeks ago and I reckon I now have better ride than original factory standard and a genuine 45mm increase.
I'm carrying a TJM T3 bar on the front, which is a steel cross-member with single alloy loop. We went for the King Springs KTFR-101HT for the front and KRPR-102 for the rear. The shocks are the Oz Tec ones which are specially made for the Prado. Unlike other shocks that use off-the-shelf and fit spacers to suit each vehicle, Oz Tec appear to make specific shocks for each application. The combination of progressively rated and tapered springs seems to work really well. It's firm without jolting on the road, and very sure-footed in the rough.
I originally went to talk to Opposite Lock about getting their kit fitted, but after standing around for 15 minutes with no service while the staff chatted behind the counter, I left and went to an independent business called Can Do 4x4 in Lilydale, Victoria. The lady there, Jackie, is a walking encyclopaedia of all things 4x4. She even knows things I've heard mechanics get wrong, like how to properly grease a bearing.
Can Do 4x4 fitted the front struts and rear springs for me and I fitted the rear shocks to save a couple of bucks. For the life of me I couldn't get the top nuts undone so I took the car back to Can Do and they loosened them for me - free of charge.
I can't speak highly enough about the King Springs/Oz Tec set up, and the customer service at Can Do 4x4.

Whitey, do you want the (factory) front springs from mine ? It's a V6 150.
I'm doing the fronts at the moment using the AMTS method as I don't have spring compressors.

A question about the wheel alignment, will a tyre shop alignment do the job ? Pedders always spin me some crap about they are the only ones who do an IFS wheel alignment properly. They cost twice as much, which I don't mind paying as long as it's worth it. What do you guys think ?

                                Thanks !
