  • 265 70 17 tyre prices!!!

Well... after 1 too many sidewall punctures on the 65000km old ATZ 4 ribs I've decided to bite the bullet and replace all 6 with fresh rubber.
Problem that I have is the prices that I've been quoted today! Is it just me or have tyres got really expensive in the last few months.
    Best prices I can get in my location are;
    -Toyo at2 $360
    -BFG AT KO2 $370
    -Micky T ATZ P3 $380
    -BFG KM2 $ 360 (on sale)
Are these prices comparable to what others are currently paying in regional areas?
I'm keen to stay with more aggressive AT tyres at the moment however the pricing on the KM2's might sway me. Missus thinks that they might be too loud. Are they really that noisy?
White 150 GX, TJM t13, TJM scrub bars steps, TJM underbelly protection, Kaymar rear bar, matt black speedy avalanches with mickey T ATZ' P3s, ARB BP 51 suspension, Heat exchange shower, Safari snorkel, on board air tank, custom rear drawers, wind cheeta rack, custom maxtrax mounts, in dash ozi explorer, cargo barrier and more!

KO2s only $35 each more than I paid so probably not too bad.

I searched KO2 only yesterday and found them for $377. Then there's fitting, balancing and disposal of the old rubber.

I bought a set of these last year, about $260 each, very good so far . Good in the wet or dry and good off road, not a mud tyre but I didn't want them for digging in mud,lol . http://www.weststatetyres.com.au/tyr...5-dynapro-at-m

I'll be in the market for a set of AT Light truck tyres later in the year, so I'm just keeping an eye open for prices etc.
the Hankook Dynapro AT-m LT tyre is absolutely worth a close look. Folk who have them that I know are speaking highly of them...I'd be interested in any other comments about the Dynapro AT LT tyres.
Raydes has a set and is happy so far. Current pricing for the Hankook is about $120 per tyre below the price for BFG AT LT tyres.

I've got hankook AT-M as my highway tyres.. Been very happy with them. Quiet as ever, mileage is 1.8-2 litre per hundred less than my MTZ's.
Good grip in wet, will be even leaving them on for a sand dune weekend coming up shortly to see how they go.

              Thanks for the replies all.
Just heard back today that I can get Kelly TSR's on stock run out for $330 each. That's thrown a spanner in the works, time for some more research!

I've got KO2's put them on a few weeks ago, while they seem OK the grip in the wet is crap compared to the D697's I had prior. I went the 697's last time after years of having bf's but always found them skaty in the wet with 2 kids etc I decided I wanted some thing a bit better in the wet so went the D697's. As they got towards the end of their life they started to get skaty also and also only lasted 60 thou (probably would have got another 5 to 10 out of them) but in general great tyre although noisier then the old bf's. Cheers

Check out the Toyo Open Country At 2's. I got them in 265 65 R17's for $1100 for 5 tyres, including balancing, wheel alignment & disposal. Only found out about them after reading on the forum. No regrets. Great on & off road. Don't really notice any increase in tyre noise. They have them in the 70's.

Yep... Can get them for $360 each. I already run them on my work vehicles and agree they are a good tyre. There is quite a few guys in the local 4x4 club that run them and they appear to a little weak in the sidewall when the tracks get a bit tougher. Very good tyre if used on well used tracks IMO. The 70's are $90 each more than the 65's from my dealer.

For those that live around SOR in Perth, i bought mine from Bob Jane in Rockingham 265 x 70 x 17 KO2 = $335 per tyre
it took alot of bloody haggling to get it for that price.
i barely notice the extra noise, i like the appearance. am yet to truly test them out, going for a trip up north in the next couple months. ill be able to comment after that.

The Toyo AT 2 are pretty tough. Had a lot of experience with them on the stadium super trucks we've been involved in.
They take the blows that's for sure!
I was deciding between them and the hankooks when I was looking for new highway tyres. Hankook did the right price for me but, 5 265/70 17 for $1250 fitted. Hence why I tried them this time...

After speaking to a few dealers that sell Mickey Thompson tyres it has become apparent that they are told what price to sell their tyres for!
If they are found to sell below what is specified by MT then they could lose their MT dealer partnership. This could explain why the regional prices are similar to metro prices for MT tyres and not so for other brands. Good for me being regional (have to pay the same inflated prices as everyone else) but not good if you're looking for a good price.

I am going in to Jax Quickfit on the Gold Coast to get 5 X KO2's next week. At this stage they are $360 per tyre but will see if there is any wiggle room. I am going the 70's for a bit more clearance
