Snow chains on 265/70R17 AT3

I'm pretty sure you will rub on the front wheels when you try to turn. My 265/70/17 tyres rub without chains when on full lock.

I note Aldi have got snow chains in store at the moment - $66 a set I think.

They have two sizes, unfortunately neither of them seem suitable for 265/70R17, only 256/65

Did not get around to check, but all I can say that 265/65 17 chains had lots of space left, so I think it should not be a problem to fit them on 265/70, I will try to check during the week.

As I stated above the SC265 fit my Cooper 265/70/17 ST Max's beautifully. - Cheers

So finally got around to fit the aldi chains again in my BFG 265/70/17 tires, to check if they fit (previously I had 265/65/17), and did the front wheels to see how it fits there.

So the chains fit easily onto the tires, but as mentioned earlier do not put them on the front wheels, unless you will drive only straight. They have enough clearance for that (just) , but at full lock, there are issues at two places, going both directions. , .

Thanks for posting the pics - do Aldi still have these in stock in Melb? (Lazy question, I know, but I'm overseas at the moment and getting back to Oz on Friday...)

Did Aldi stock the chains in Adelaide? The one I went to didn't have any. Was there more stock in NSW and VIC?

Varies froms tore to store, in some they are gone on the same day, in some they linger a while, need to find a store which is in a zone that would have very little serious 4x4s, like Prahran :-)

I would have thought the Toorak tractors would be clamouring all over these for the upcoming snow season.

Generally the 4WD chains go within two days of appearing in the stores.

If you really want some you can sometimes find a low turnover (small) Aldi and it may have some left.
