  • Toyota Dealerships.

Well we have a fair share of people here who have had bad dealings with their dealer, well I would like to give a good rap to the dealership here in Darwin.
I brought a new set of tires under 10 thousand K ago and have had a wobble that the tire company could not identify so they said it is probably an issue with car, i went to Bridge Toyota explained the issue and they started their investigating, first balance and alignment, then tightened every loose bolt on the bull bar and and around the car without success, they then changed tires from a similar car and tried that which proved the issue was the tires, whats really good is Bridge Toyota did a lot of work to discover the problem and didn't charge me for their efforts even when it wasn't a car issue. This is what service is all about, i will now continue to take my car there for all servicing. I should also say the tire company has said if the issue is the tire, which they suspect they no the issue and will check it out and replace the tires if required.

And the brand of the tyres was?

I just had a quote from Bridge Toyota for a 5,000 km oil and filter change of $420.

Interested to know if this was just a misunderstanding from the service contact, or is this 'Darwin rates'?

As a point of reference Melbourne based Toyota dealership was under $200 last time. Even Broome Toyota a couple of years ago was $175!

That doesn't sound right, I know they charge $165 an hour for labor, if i were you I would ask what the go is, it wouldn't take an hour to change the oil.
Please know i do not work for Toyota or any dealership or any affiliate of Toyota.

Just had my work car (RAV4) serviced yesterday and now I sit in a customers car park with a dead battery!!! I rang my Toyota Service dealer to enquire as to what the "inspect battery" line means in the service book and their response was "Toyota says we don't need to check the battery performance, its just a visual check only (corrosion on posts and fluid check only). Would never of happened with my old mechanic. What ever happened to proper servicing? Bah!!!!
