Snorkel install clarification

Hi all,

I just need some snorkel piping guidance for my KZJ90 which has a 1KZTE.

Referring to the image above, I take it that everyone just disposes of the cut off piece (Part C)?

Is it possible to fit flexi-pipe from the bottom of the snorkel directly to the airbox, taking out the need for the whole boom bottle above?

For those who have kept the boombox above, what did everyone use to make sure the connection at Point A is airtight?

Any other areas that need special attention to make sure they are airtight?

All tips are welcome!
