I had thought about it, but we did have Rose with the G'parents after a sleepover....

We will know the Broome to Halls Creek Highway quite well, will travel it twice at least.

Sadly, we will be going clockwise out of Melbourne - Perth - Broome. We have a fixed date in Broome that is a friends wedding, a week before the GTG.

Then we will be taking Tanami Track South (think Wolfe Creek).

(Also, depending on your policy for non prados, dad would like to come in his hilux but if the committee doesn't want to allow non prados, we'll come without him anyway.

Might come down to how many places are filled. I'm happy to have one or two "others" along, especially since you were/ are a Prado owner. Closer to the cut off date, we will assess where we are at, as we do have a an enquiry for a Hilux to tag along if we are agreeable. I also have to keep in mind that I have quoted certain numbers to get good camping rates, so I would like to have as fuller compliment as possible.
      What does everyone think?
I think you have it pretty well covered.
John in the Hilux is a nice bloke, I'd like to have him along, the Hilux has the same engine, sounds good to me
Tricky has me worried, not a jeep I hope ?
I Don't have an issue with other vehicles, I suppose as long as its mainly Prados.
It's not like you could or would turn anyone away if they sold their Prado & turned up in something else suitable.

      Hi there Mrs Whitey,

I have just spent considerable time reading through these 14 pages and would now like to make a formal submission. (Well, not that formal)
As evidenced from the above postings, it appears that there may be an opening for a non prado participant. (A Hilux is pretty close though (hint) )
Earlier this year I tagged along on the Cape Trip with the other Prado Point crew and had a ball.
This trip sounds like another great adventure, so I thought I might as well make the enquiries now.
See how you go with numbers and keep me posted.

      Kev from Vic

ps. I do know some prado owners (hope this helps)

        • Hi everyone, As the official registration period ends in 12 days and so far numbers are on the lighter side, we would consider extending the rego's for another 6 weeks but that's as far as we can push it as I need to start confirming and booking our intended accommodation providers shortly after that. I know that there are many different reasons for waiting to commit, money, time, family etc but we would very much like to give people the opportunity to join us. In regards to non Prado's joining us, we will have a 200 series along and we am happy to consider the 2 requests from Hilux owners to join us if we don't get a full compliment of Prado's. At the end of the day, the trip is about getting out on an adventure and camping with like minded folk. As they are all Toyota's I can see some interesting conversations and comparisons occurring around the campfire. So, we will push the rego closing date back to the 14th of November 2016 and we will liaise with our Hilux owning cousins after that date.

Thanks for the update Mrs Whitey. Sounds very reasonable to me.
I will follow with increasing interest.

              • Well only 14 days left to register for the most western GTG ever. Come and enjoy the 2 weeks of fun and friendship with other like minded people and families.

Going by the last 3 GTG's I have attended I can say with out a doubt the fun and friendships made at these events last quite a long time. I am really looking forward to catching up with old friends and making new ones along the way.

                  • Never really been active on PP, bought a 90 in February, done a lot of work since then, looked over this forum, most of the 90 forum seems dead. Joined glen's Facebook page but being from Kununurra were pretty keen on the GTG

Don't let this put you off. There is normally one 90 series at a GTG so why not be that one. With the GTG right on your doorstep you are never going to have one closer than this so come and join us and have a fun time.
