anyone replaced or recondition there steering rack as apparently mine is shot. how do I know it is maybe something else in the steering. Any help or pics much appreciated from Melbourne Australia.

If you find that it is the rack make sure you get a chrome plated rack. The ones that have been built up using a metal spray process are too soft and will wear out in a short time. The shafts are also bent in varing degrees. I worked in a workshop for about 3 months that produced reco racks and what ended up on cars was shocking. If they are bent they were replaced if the leaked but usualy they lasted for the waranty period. The chrome plated ones are ground out, then plated, and then ground to size. Ken.Ken

I just bought a new rack on Friday and hope to install it in the next few days, I will try and take a few pictures if that helps.
