Hey everyone,
Yesterday I installed a new head unit in my Prado 120 (2006), and whilst it was successful (yay!) I hit a little problem which I didn't expect. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures, so please bare with me...
I was following the various photo guides people have posted in the past, such as: http://www.lcool.org/technical/120_s...ra/camera.html
When it came to doing my head unit the centre console also has some air con/vent controls () below the head unit.
Behind those controls are some pretty sturdy looking rods which head off towards the drivers-side. I assume these end up doing something mechanical inside to shift the airflow around. (A picture would be great here...)
Those rods got in my way, a lot. I couldn't find an obvious way to detach them so I couldn't remove the centre console entirely and had to keep it balanced the whole time to not put strain on those rods. It was a bit of an ordeal.
Does anyone have any tips or guides which include this kind of stuff? I'm (obviously) fairly new at this, but I enjoy giving it a go. I'll be heading back in there again in a week to add in a reversing camera, so anything to make my life easier would be great!
