So Finally got Toyota to do the TNF52/12 ECU Update and it seems to have fixed everything! Clocked up about 100+ k's on the highway from Nambour to Brisbane and not a hesitation. Yew!
      Thanks for the help everyone.

G'day guys, I'm a bit late on this one, but I did have the same thing, my is early 2012 model, manual, with 40k or so on the clock.. I had noticed on the very odd Occassion, I slight miss type thing, when under slight load, thought I was dreaming the first few times, over a couple of months when I felt it, still seemed to run fine, but wasn't doing it to often.. Went for a trip down the coast, and the wife felt it too, seemed to do it 3 or so times, on the way down.. On the way home it did it again, then it did it for about 10 seconds, thought it was going to cut out all together, and was about to pull up, and came good. Vehicle ran brilliant after this episode, all the way home, 2.5 hours. Had no engine light or anything come up, was due for service the next week, apparently, the computer was upgraded in mid 2012, asked toyota to do this upgrade, which, from what I believe, was to overcome a miss around the 2000rpm mark.. Also did the injector values, all good, no codes were registered, vehicle has been fine, since that bad miss on the way back from the coast, haven't felt it since.. Thinking maybe a tiny bit of air in the system.. Guess I'll never know, but all great now.. Have also been using BP fuel just for your info.. Hope yours is all sorted.. Cheers fellas.. Odog

          O Dog,

your miss, does it happen when you power on from cruise? I have a miss and not having luck finding it... happens when you accelerate from a higher rpm cruise (anywhere from 2000-3000)

Did you read the previous posts? Most people me included, fixed this with the ECU update.

it seemed to get a little more frequent, over a few months, and was when you went to accelerate, when it started to do it a bit more often, and then it all of a sudden went really bad, for 10 seconds or so, I was trying to find somewhere to pull up, and it came good, hasn't done it since, that was about 8 months ago.. Like I said, it got serviced about 2 weeks later, they did the update, and checked injector values, all good, but it hasn't done it since I thought it was going to cut out altogether.. So I think it must have cleared its self, that's why I think it maybe had a tiny bit of air in the system, I don't know? First time it did it, it was very suttle, and wasn't sure if I took my foot off the gas, or was it a miss. Then felt it a few weeks later, and thought I was sure it was a tiny miss/hesitation, only did it very occasionally, over a few months, till we went away, and was more apparent, maybe 3 times in 350km, on the way home, it did it 2/3 times in about 60km, then it did it big time, that's when it came good, and never did it since.. Seemed to be when going up hill, cruising, and just put your foot down slightly to bring on the torque a bit, that's where it would do it.. Hope this helps.. Cheers Odog

Yes I did, to clarify, was the car stuffing around when cruising or accelerating out of cruise?

also can someone tell me if the software version is the calibration id? and what this update brings it up to

It's quite a while ago, so not sure. I would just ask for the update and see what happens. Nothing to lose and might save a lot of potential stuffing around

Not sure what you mean by software version. My Prado has a few stickers in the door sill for ECU updates that have been applied.

mine does not have that, in techstream there is a calibration ID (mine is 360G1000 and A2501000), I was wondering if that was the software version? My car was at toyota to find that fault nearly a year ago and they could not fault it and still charged me...

Brockbaker - cannot believe I have found your thread. Have been battling with he same issue with our 2012 diesel manual when we had a steinbaur chip fitted at 120k - now 270k! I know it was a awhile ago - but did it fix the problem long term with the ECU upgrade TNF 52/12? Looking forward to hearing back from you. Thanks in advance.
