I know what you're probably already thinking, "Here's another newbie who wants to ask why his speedo is out by a couple of km/h!" but it's a little bit more than that this time...
My speedo error seems to change every day. Sometimes it's too fast, sometimes it's too slow. I've downloaded different GPS speedo apps on my phone and my partner's phone, and both of them have showed that my speedo can be reading anywhere between 80 - 120 km/h while travelling at a true speed (given by GPS) of 100km/h. One time the speedo just read 0 until I turned the car off and back on again a couple of times.
I figure that this must be an electrical problem, given the sporadic changes. I've heard that the Prado takes its speed from the ABS sensors rather than a gearbox sensor, is this true? Could one of them be faulty and be messing with the whole system? Has anyone had a problem like this before, or have any idea how to fix it?
Cheers
