Yes completely agree with your Rags. I was also thinking how are the property owners going to justify any yearly increase to the maintenance amount without declaring the calculation method up front.
I love to hear an opinion from a Solicitor on the Crofting idea – if we have one on the forum (un-officially of course). If a couple of mates put in – a small bit of dirt could be worth the outlay but it obviously needs to be check out.
Not to mention, the property will be totally unavailable to 'Crofters' for 10 whole days every three months!
I could see that it might appeal to some who want to have a quiet space in the bush but not have to come up with thousands up front to make it happen, but then they have 10% of their time excluded from their little bush home?
"No person is permitted to conceal their identity with clothing..."
Its a nudist colony?

The whole thing sounds shonky...
I thought that as well ...Caveat emptor" (as they say in latin.)
...and whilst it doesn't look like a dedicated nudist colony as such, it is private property, and you would only have hold a "croft licence", so your croft may well be "clothing optional" (heaven knows the mozzies and cattle ticks would have a field day if you were that way inclined) ...the detail is lacking on the web site.

I don't think the crofts were overly expensive were they?
