Just a good quality set of rotors & pads is the go & a good fluid flush every 2 years.
So don't waste your money, unless of corse you have too much
Drilled rotors can crack more easily, slotted can be hard to machine well.
But if your loaded you can just scrap them each time you have problems, which will be a long time with dba t2 or t3.
Fwiw, Ive found that slotted seem to need machining lwss often. Although I do go through pads about 20% faster. Something I'm not overly concerned with. Again, I live in the hills so I chew through brakes anyway.

With that said... If my budget allowed for standard DBA rotors or slotted cheaper brand, I'd go for the DBAs. I've had two warranties on another well known quality brand due to warping. One was a slotted on my wifes mercedes and the other was a standard rotor on the Prado.

Im currentlynusing T2s. Dont know what T3 is or it's advantages.

        From the interweb thingo:

DBA Releases the new T Slot Design Rotors and they are available at Echelon Autosports!

The new T Slot rotors are offered in both T2 and T3 Designs and offer the following design benefits:

        T2 Slot Design

        • Patented ‘Kangaroo Paw’ ventilation design* provides greater heat dissipation
        • Bi-Symmetrical T2 curve slots dampen the vibration harmonics or noise, resulting in a quieter, responsive and smoother brake pedal feel
        • T2 slot design provides even pad wear and assists in minimizing glazing of pad surfaces
        • Non-directional slot design eliminates the need for left and right discs
        • Paint protection on non-friction areas enhances appearance

T3 Slot Design Offers the additional benefits over the T2 Slot Design

        • XG150 High Carbon Alloyed Iron increases the thermal capacity properties of the rotor over the T2 material
        • Tri-Symmetrical T3 Slot design dampens the vibration harmonics resulting in a quieter, responsive and a further improvement of brake pedal feel when compared to the T2 slot design. The T3 slots also provide rapid brake recovery after exiting water crossings.
        • TSP (Thermal Stability Profiling) prolongs the service life of the rotor. This process is only applied to HEAVY DUTY, T3 4X4 and CLUBSPEC rotors containing XG-150 high carbon alloyed iron.

Yeah it's the QUALITY of the rotors which helps

There are some well branded rubbish rotors around now.
Bosch bought pbr, all I will say is pbr used to be good, wink wink.

I find TRW to be another good brand reasonably priced. Available from Repco.

I have been fitting Repco branded rotors where available lately and haven't had an issue as yet (touch wood). Not sure if they are available for the mighty Prado, but if they are they would be a cheap option.

I've got slotted & dimpled RDA rotors on the front with Bendix pads. I used to just have standard RDA rotors, and descending the Toowoomba Range every day meant they'd warp and shudder as a result from excessive heat build up and rapid cooling from hwy speed winds after a few months. With the slotted ones this has never happened. I change my own brakes and rotors so spending the extra $20 or whatever it is per rotor is no big deal. I only ever paid a mechanic once to change my brakes and rotors and at $1,060 for all 4 back in 2008, never again. Once you've changed them a couple of times you get pretty speedy at it.

I put the Slotted/Dimpled on before Xmas and so far they seem really good. Time will tell I suppose.
