One little thing though, auto one had me pay the freight cost to get the platform and backbone from rhino. I questioned the guy as I didn't understand how that should be paid by me. Anyone else copping this from auto one/any other rhino stockists?
I had to pay $25 freight for mine.. But I live in Kalgoorlie

I have a sunroof on my 150 Altitude so it will be interesting to see if the open tilt will not be affected.
Keen to see pics evltoy!! When measured up I thought it should be fine

                  • It still looks like it is too high at the front compared to other roof racks such as the Tracklanders etc. Although I have not seen one in the flesh yet.

Thanks Longhorn - Just to ensure that people purchase the right product that suits their 1928mm tray.

You will need to purchase RTPB1 with Issue04 instructions. The kit required has the Rail part numbers listed as CA1626 & CA1627. All new stock as of late October should reflect the ability to fit both small and larger trays. Backbones with part numbers CA1466 and CA1467 will not suit 1928mm trays.

Can't comment too much on 120 Series Backbone other than we've heard the requests loud and clear!

                        • Message for Will:

I picked up my RTPB1 Backbone + 42102B (1928x1236) on 3rd Nov from the Welshpool depot in Perth. Unfortunately after fitting the backbone rails I have discovered the instructions are Issue03, and the Backbone does not fit the platform. It seems I have been given rails CA1466 & CA1467.

I will contact the retailer for this to see if I can arrange a swap. How can I determine if the Backbone box contains rails CA1626 & CA1627? These are not printed on the box, the only indication was a very small "Issue 03" on the instructions inside the box.

                          • Hey Daz, my apologies for that inconvenience! I will have to have a think about this one, because as you say there's isn't an easy way of working it out without opening the box up.

Do you mind waiting till monday till I can speak with out CS team to get a firm idea of how we can resolve this?

                            • I have a Pioneer platform with Rhino Backbone.
I like the product and it looks great.
it isn't noisy at all but that depends on what you put on the rack.
They are a bit fiddly to fit and it is very difficult to tighten 2 of the bolts per side that hold the backbone to the roof.
The allen key that Rhino supply is useless and to do the job properly I had to cut down a ball end allen key and used a 6mm ring spanner on it accessing it through one of the side holes.

I have written to Rhino and so far they have fobbed me off.

                              • No probs to wait till Monday Will, thanks for the quick reply.
The supplier is RileyParts and I have already informed them of the problem.
Ideally I would like to swap the rails for the newer ones with the Issue04 instructions.

Just to comment on my experience on fitting the rails with the allen keys. The design is slightly flawed as when the bolts are getting close to tight the allen key is awkward to insert/remove from the bolt because the rail is in the way. I managed to make it work though with the provided tool, and it helped to wrap electrical tape around the end of the allen key to avoid scraping the vehicle roof paint.
