Has anyone tried that Happy Camper Gourmet food? I'm thinking about giving it a go but just want to know if it tastes any good or not. It's the stuff Pat Callinin advertises on his show. Cheers

I have had some of there meals, tested them at home to see what they are like. Happy with them but everyone's tastes are different.
Some of them you need to add potatoes or rice as they are just the meat and sauce, others have everything in the pack.2015 GX Prado 3L Auto, in the process of being fitted out.

I bought shanks combo pack after chatting to them and impressed with their support. I was asking them whether their packs can fit in the canteen - looking for an excuse to get one . But support came back and said 300g pack will definitely fit in jetboil - which I already got. So, bought 6 shanks combo pack with 15% off from unsealed 4x4.
Haven't tasted them yet though - but need to find out before I go away. Otherwise, I'll have to chew beef jerkies and drink water.
Those shanks packs are 450-500g and just fit in my jetboil sol - well kind of - can't close the lid. So, I can heat it thru the pack or empty the pack into jetboil and heat it. Or just eat it cold..... mmmmm.
In terms of serving - these shanks pack are 450/500g two servings. Looks pretty big - not sure whether I can finish it by myself. Will find out soon.2013 ZR in Crystal Pearl With Bits From ARB Catalogue.

Hi All
Heard an interview with the owner of the company, a Farmer on ABC country hour radio.
Seems they started out trying to value add to the Farming venture and the Happy Camper lines took off.
We have not yet tried the products, but will do when I can get some.
Lasts for up to two years in the package.
Used the old freeze dried foods on a school hiking trip a couple of years ago. At the time it was passable but must have been hungry.
Cheers

+1 for these Goggo, we've had the lamb shanks and the beef stew, both delicious! A little pricey but good to have on hand for back up meals or when you just don't feel like cooking. I was concerned they might have been too salty but very pleasantly surprised. We add rice or mash and veges to suit.White 2008 Toyota Prado 120GXL - see here: http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?33659-Spike-s-120GXL-Build-Up

Hi all, I've just returned from our camping trip and after taking a few packs of the Happy Camper Gourmet lamb shanks and I gotta say myself and my wife were very impressed with the outcome. My wife was very unsure at first and didn't like the idea of not having them refrigerated but even she was surprised at how tender and fresh they tasted. Thumbs up from us.
