So, after enjoying working on 4x4's instead of driving them by having 2 LR Discovery's, I decided to bite the bullet and get a Prado

Ended up scoring a low km 2013 Altitide D4D in Melbourne and getting it shipped back to Perth. Saved approx $15k over local Perth pricing. So happy days!

Got 3 kids and a Jayco Swan Outback camper so will be getting the Altitude nicely built up for camping and hopefully to do the Gibb River Road in 2017.

First mods are the easiest. Tyres were bald so had to fit new ones for WA inspection. Got some Cooper Discoverer AT3's cheap. Wanted ST Maxx but as it's the wife's daily car, decided to keep it subtle!

Brougham's 150 Altitude build

Sidewinder dual battery tray fitted (so easy!).

Loads of electrical items purchased:

Switches from AirOnBoard

Dual batter monitor from SolidKit

RedArc TowPro kit

Dual battery system (USI-160) from Traxide. Had Tim's kits in my Disco so happy with the quality and options. Got the full power kit to run 12V sockets to rear for fridge and Andersen plug to back for camper.

Picked up the beast from Adventure4x4 today.

Fitted colour coded ARB deluxe winch bar, OME suspension upgrade with 200kg constant rears

Drove nicely home, however sits up higher than hoped. See how the missus feels about it after a week or so.

Looks like they stuffed up and fitted the bar only springs to the front, not the bar&winch I was quoted on. So will have to sort that out.

But achieved 40-42mm lift on front, 70-75mm on rear. That should drop 5-10mm as it settles hopefully. Was also pretty much empty fuel tank as well.

Yeah, not as unique or all the cool features of the discos, but at least I'm happier I won't get stranded by crappy British electrics!

Gday brougham,
Have you fitted the usi-160 yet? Interested in seeing a pic of where you put it. My isolator has died (been waiting for it to do so) and will be getting the Traxide USI-160 in its place. They sound like a good bit of gear.

Yeah it finally arrived day before our trip, managed to fit it up (not finished the complete kit as no time then).

Excellent, I am also interested in the isolator...I'm just starting to get my head around the tracked stuff, still don't quite understand how to plan my install for what I hope to do yet, but I'll b very interested in what other folk do.

Here are some engine bay pics. Ignore th dust, just came back from some 4x4 tracks in the red dirt!

Isolator is mounted on drivers side. Haven't wired the switch into cabin yet, and may not in the end as don't mind it where it is at present (on fuse block).

Just ordered the usi-160 and came to check on some install info and read my own post asking you about your install. Thanks for posting the pics. It's been a couple of months now... Is all going well? And further thoughts?
