Already done a few things and it's going in to ARB next Wednesday for some goodies.
          Hi Slippery.

I have just completed a suspension upgrade for my 2016 Kakadu V6 and the difference is amazing from standard.

I did lots of research as the complexity of the standard Kakadu suspension provides many limitations such as integrating with the KVSS and rear airbags etc.

I sourced some Bilstein shocks and Calloff road springs and Airbag Man airbags from CalloffRoad and am very happy with the final result.

Most companies I spoke to would not touch the Kakadu but I have found I can find what I want if I persist with my research.

50mm lift all round, which is the main thing I was looking for and the rear airbags still integrate with the L, N and H airbag adjustment in the Kakadu.

Was not the cheapest system around and cost me about $3,500 fully fitted in Perth.

The vehicle is now much more stable with far less body movement in bumpy areas and the extra height means that I have welcome greater clearance which is the main thing I was after.

I also needed to have height adjustable shocks and airbags as the height of my garage door was an issue.

Very happy with the final result.

          Cheers.

          David

Will be doing unichip in the next 3 months. Just need to find the time. Thinking of doing turbo and exhaust too.

                    So nearly there !

Exhaust and Unichip by end of year ! Absolutely loving the prado. Rides beautifully. Gotta say the Kakadu's centre console fridge works a treat. Great for when the mrs is driving ! Can get 7 Stubbies in there. Saves pulling over for cold ones out the back fridge.

Few Kakadu's getting kitted out which is good to see.... Alot of people say they don't see the value in the Top Spec but I love it. The sound system pumps. Rear Airbags are shit hot for towing. The KDSS is unreal for on road handling. The vehicle corners alot better.

Very happy with what i got ! think I'll keep this one a while

Yeah you're right slippery. I love my Kakadu now that I have discovered I can do what I want to it if I spend enough time researching it. With the KVSS suspension and the new Bilstein 50mm lift kit, upgrade springs and airbags, it kicks arse. Obliterates a standard Prado in the rough. I have added another ARB locker to the front so with the front, rear and centre lockers engaged it never gets stuck. It crawls up the roughest of terrain that others can only dream of conquering. I found the bash plates I installed kept bottoming out so with the 50mm lift, this now never happens.

Just love the fridge, the optitronic instruments, the LED headlights, etc etc etc. Did you have to take out the rear seats to fit those cargo boxes in your photos?

I want to research getting some powerful spotties. I used to have 4 Cibie super oscars (2 long, two wide) on one of my previous rigs and these were awesome.

People tell me I can get better illumination with the newer LED lights with less amperage required but I will hold my breath.

As I have only limited space on my ECB bar, two or three large lights will fit on the bar and I was wondering if some wide angle LED bars might fill in the gap so I have a wide spread of light plus distance like with the Cibies.

Have you added any good (and I mean good not Chinese or Korean crap) spotties?

                          Cheers.

                          David

                            HI again Slippery.

I have the V6 4 Litre Prado and although this is a great engine (albeit shocking fuel consumption) I would love to add some extra grunt to it.

Does anyone know some good ways to do this.

                            * e.g. turbocharging like in the TRD turbo Hilux (mate has one!)

                            * do exhaust mods make a difference as I loath the whine of my engine (my previous Lexus IS 3.5F had a great note so why not this thing???).

                                A good look.

You don't get this kind of wheel articulation with the standard Prados.
