My mistake, the prado is as matty1 said. I was thinking of the fortuner which has the button.

My mistake good folk...I took a new Fortuner GXL and also a new Prado GXL (both with the new 2.8l diesel engine)...and it was the Fortuner with the "eco" button on the center console...and it definitely made a difference...in "eco" mode the auto down shifts were delayed, and the car was somewhat gutless in comparison to having the 'eco' mode turned off....apologies, I got my vehicles mixed up good folk

There is no inhibiting of the engine fuel or anything and light on or off there is no management going on in the background of the engine/fuel system. So all the button does is stops the light from coming on on the dash?

My wife drives our gxl 2.8l and I leave the eco mode turned on, tell her thats all the throttle she should be using 😊.
