He called in to my house just before Christmas, and i got a follow up email from him today regarding an issue i had that's not even related to the mapper. Best customer support ever, so the Ozbush Mapper is 100% working and in full swing.

I bought mine last month and it only took 2 days to arrive.

      • I ordered one today along with the upgraded MAF and the total block EGR plate. Young emailed me back within two hours of me emailing him with the order.

          • Rusty62 Hi mate, good to hear you are getting back on the road again, we may pass each other somewhere. We are picking up the new van tomorrow and going to Bunbury for a few days then moving. We haven't worked out which way home yet. I watch water temp and AT temp on the scan gauge. As you say the Toyota gauge is hardly worth having when you see how much and how quickly it can go up if the tranny is unlocked. I have been letting the ATT move up to approx 96 before I drop back to 4th and is also amazing how fast the temp drops as well. I think anyone towing should invest in a Scanguage. I have found in the last few weeks I have a bit of freeplay when engaging reverse, nothing in forward gears there is a fair size clunk. I read up PP on the tailshaft Clunk/thunk as they called it, and greased the shaft spline, but no difference. Have you had any experience with this. It doesn't seem to be worrying anything when moving. I still have my Catch can as I just don't want to go through the job of cleaning the inlet manifold again. What a job. I better start doing something constructive. Will you be towing with the 100 or the beast through the Territory. OK mate. have a good one. Take care and cheers Bill. Hello Young, thanks again.

            • Very interesting thread. Does anyone know what is happening? Where is the project up to? Thanks John

Bill. If you have the full block the catch can isn't really needed, but won't hurt. Some say the oil film reduces the amount of cooling in the inter cooler.

The T/C lock and oil cooler will keep the temps in the gearbox under 85 deg.

On the tail shaft clunk we had the shaft replaced at 40000 km but it came back shortly after and now 260000 + still clunks but doesn't seem to cause any issues. The freeplay you speak of could be old oil in the tranny. Do a quick part flush and use only Toyota WS oil. You will find the instructions on PP.

The 100 will be used for our lap as the Bushtracker is 3500kg. Just a bit to much for the Prado.

For those who have not spoken to Young he is one very good man.

                • Up in cold north, there are a firm with name Tuningservice, they programming the ECU to get more power to the engine and block the EGR. All done by software. All problems solved?

Get someone with small fingers- It's a nightmare to get in between block and egr cooler pipe flange. His advice to place a towel under it is well worth it, saved me removing bash plates to find it when I dropped the blank. Doing it when the engine is cold is some advice that I should have heeded as well :P

Thanks mate, I’m going to remove the battery (hope that helps). I’ll be doing the egr clean first so hopefully that will help when everything is out of the way and yep she’ll be cold too.

                          • Really keen to see if you get a noticeable performance increase from that mate, I haven't done the clean yet as I'm waiting for assistance from someone who is more competent than I on the tools- I'm sure I could take it apart, but putting it back together correctly is a bit daunting for me :P

I actually saw a part in my Toyota workshop manual that must be for overseas models without an EGR system. It's basically a bypass pipe for the coolant- Looks like it'd be a good way to declutter the engine, but it'd also make it obvious to anyone that inspects it that the emissions system has been tampered with. I have seen guys on the facebook groups removing them but I'm not that game personally.

well I started with intentions this morning but I couldn’t get that clip off and then when I saw where the EGR plate goes I thought bugger me I can’t get my hands in there, so I went ahead and installed the manual mapper minus the egr block, I’m going to see my mechanic mate next week and get him to do the egr block. Haven’t taken it for a drive yet.

whats the Facebook page I’d like to have a look and see what’s involved in removing the egr system altogether,
