So has admin contacted Young to let him know of the honest mistake??

It is not that we make mistakes, but how we go about correcting them that defines us as people. Something i learned from many years in sales.

          • Go easy on admin boys, their job is not easy at times and generally a thankless task.

Where all adults on here, others have had posts removed in the past, generally they just contact admin and sort it out. It is unfortunate to loose someone who appears to very knowledgable but if they wish to spit the dummy and leave then that is their choice.

            • I have just spoken to Ozbush (Young) on the phone and told him it was a mistake and that his threads were reinstated including the one on 90's petrol engine forum. The main issue Ozbush had was not being notified the threads were deleted and why...

Anyway there is a positive to all this. After talking for awhile I mentioned about how good it would be to modify the up idle switch so it works like it does on the 70 series. That is you can turn it on, increases your RPM to 1200 or whatever it is and won't turn off unless you drive a certain speed or turn it if. It would come in handing when winching to help charge the battery and if you have a manual and traversing on rough ground at walking pace. Ozbush said he will look into it.

              Cheers

              • Hi Gents,
Thanks for all your support. Thanks to Admin.
I won't talk about it anymore. All is OK.
I am heading to XX location for field testing a device which I built for DoD and I won't be back until Monday.
Winston mentioned about idle up function and that is actually built into the Mapper already.
I will see if I can use it for idle up function when I come back.

                Cheers

                    • Have done a second tow test at last. Narangba to Amamoor (Gympie) and some offroad and sight seeing. Mapper set at +8.
630 km on 93.67 L = 14.85 L/100. This was better than the previous -5 setting. Don't drive for outright speed but like the extra torque and lower rpm gear changes must help with economy. This is on par with the usage when i had the tunit chip installed. Use the T/C lockup switch on some of the bigger hills when in second or third gears.

                      • Thanks Rusty, sounds good... interested more in decreasing the "happy the engine is no longer eating it's own poo." more than anything... I would expect MUCh longer life from my rig with it setup?
I will be buying the mapper from Young and am interested if anyone in SE QLD or NNSW can fit it totally including internal dial and blanking plate etc.?
                        Talk soon

                        • Hi Folks,

Sorry for being absent here for a while due to called up by DoD and had to help extensive electronics equipment testing.
I had some commitment with them so even if I was retired I still had to participate time to time.

I had overwhelming responses from all over the world for our Manual Mapper.
Many of them went Europe, USA, South Africa and NZ.

I have a gentleman who don't wish to be named but he used our manual mapper as turbo controller and had incredible success. He simply wired up MAP sensor with mapper hard wiring without connectors and got it going.
He has Mazda BT-50 2009 3.0L diesel and he swears by it is same or better(?) than any other diesel chip in the market.

I knew it can be used to control turbo boost pressure (MAP sensor) but I have never done it.
Then I had another gentleman who was asking his old Toyota diesel 1KZ-TE to be wired up with our mapper to do turbo boost control and I made one up and got it going extremely well.

Please have a look his beautiful install photo at our website http://ozbushelectronics.com.au/page8.php Andrew's 1KZ-TE.

I have so far 4 people got our mapper and wired up as turbo controller and worked just like diesel chips in the market.
So here it is, Anyone interested on this?

I am going to order the connectors from overseas ASAP and develop turbo controller version of manual mapper for 1KD-FTV engine anyway.
I am very interested in controlling turbo but very carefully. Rather than people to risk their engines, I will do the main development and hardware then we can try out to see what we get.

Of course I am still on new mapper development for Prado 150 and 200 with many options built in such as idle up, DPF delete, over heating warning system etc. It is still plan to release in June.

                          Cheers

                              Sure thing Brogers,
I already have many inquiries about it and waiting list is piling up.
I will definitely get back to you on that.
DPF delete is must I recon.
It just another band aid for ailing EGR system and let the user pays all the expenses.
People complaining that there are many diesel engines are emitting black smoke due to EGR system lowered burn temp of cylinder to reduce the NOx gas.
DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is soot or black smoke filter but it clogs itself up so you need to burn with extra fuel. They call that self-regeneration cycle to burn off the soot clogged up. But the self-regen can only happen when you are steady driving for at least 50km of distance.
As far as I know the DPF needs self regen burn and if you missed the self regen because you only driving in the city then you must go to dealer for forced burn for $900. But then if you are unfortunately(?) out somewhere in the desert and missed the force burn period then you must replace the DPF for $5000-8000 (in 2015 price).
DPF replacement cost will eventually drop but I think it is outrageous.

It is mandatory that all the new diesel engines now coming out in Aust market must have DPF.
I am hoping that I will come up with some nice fixes for that.

                              Cheers
