  • Rearbar and Steering

Hi guys, a few weeks ago I attached an MCC steel rear bar (with a jerry can carrier and spare tyre carrier, but I took off the spare tyre carrier as it can be observed it is bringing the steel bumper down on its side) on my Prado 90. Then steering got very weird, as if I'm towing something behind. So I assumed its the back absorbers because; 2 years ago the rear OEM absorbers broke, and I changed it to very cheap absrobers that I don't even think they have a brand name. But at the same time I replaced the front OEM absorbers to PEDDERS. So then , last week I changed the brandless rear absorbers to Old Man Emu. Still, the steering problems kept on. Moreover, my tyres screech a lot, even if the corner is not that sharp and I'm not even fast. Please help.

All sounds a little strange fitting a rear bar should not affect the steering, could make the car feel a little heavier like when you have no passengers then get a car full of passengers you do notice the difference.
I would get the front end checked out for steering or alignment you may have hit a pot hole or something and have the wheels not running parallel making them screech with the extra force on it.
